The Industry and Commerce Office of Vientiane Capital in collaboration with Furniture Association  is  going to organize the Furniture and Houseware Fair being scheduled from May 28 to June 01, 2009 at Lao International Trade Exhibition and Convention Centre (Lao ITECC), Vientiane Capital, Lao.P.D.R.  The objectives of this fair are to celebrate the Lao National Tree Planting Day as well as to promote Lao products to the domestic and international markets.  Various types of furniture and houseware made from wood, rattan and bamboo will be displayed in the fair.

The Meeting of ASEAN Collaboration on Sericulture Research and Development was held on 4 – 10 Aug 2009 at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention in Bangkok.

Laos was invited as the observer of ASEAN Collaboration meeting on Sericulture Research and Development of ASEAN countries in order to learn lesson on preparation of production and marketing, companies from Lao took part of trade fair, silk product advertisement and silk contest participation as well as contest on best individual in silk development promotion in ASEAN countries.
